Luminosity

Luminosity

Haven’t seen good weather at the beach lately … decided to dust off the 50mm lens.

Bridge the Unknown

Bridge the Unknown

We sat on the hill and watched the fog moved in and out of the bay …

It was a bit of a challenge to get this shot in the strong wind and poor visibility. Couldn’t get the bridge in sharper focus, but I like the end result enough to post it.

San Francisco visitor? This location (Hawk Hill) is highly recommended. Bring a winter jacket and flash light.

Shot with direct sun light & spot metering. The light was “controlled” via my window’s blinds. Processed via the Orton Imagery digital technique.

Lens Tags

Went through most of my Flickr photos and re-tagged them with lens info per Canon DSLR user groups (scroll to the bottom of the group’s front page). I’d rather tag my photos with “1740l” than “Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM“, but the idea is to adopt some kind of standard lens tags so public searches on various lenses would be more useful. Right now, a public search on 1740l tag returns >5K photos vs the longer version returns <2K photos. Hopefully, majority of Canon lens shooters on Flickr will use the "official" lens tags more often. The Nikkor group has their "official Nikkor tags” as well.

In Between Clouds

In Between Clouds

For a few minutes, I was lost in the light and colors. It was intoxicating watching the light above my head & beautiful colors under my feet as the tide came rushing in and out, polishing the wet sand surface. A few weeks ago, I was shooting in bellow freezing temperature with 4 layers of winter clothes. On this beach, I was in my shorts and sandals. There is no place like home … this is my winter refuge … my secret paradise…
