Different Visions

Different Visions

Looks familiar? I shot this a couple minutes after “<“. Searching for a different composition, I decided to include a small stone in the corner of the frame to personify a person. I got the shot all lined up; then I spotted someone walked right into my view finder. I got up, and waited for him to clear, but he kneed down and started shooting. I couldn’t afford to loose the light, so I took a shot. He was on dry sand, pointing his lens up at the sky. I was on the wet sand, looking for earth light instead of sky light. When the light pains the clouds with spectacular colors, it’s easy to get lost in the sky and forget about the light right on my feet.

Sometimes, the most unattainable dream feels a lot more attainable with a different perspective. I shot this photo at 17mm and was right next to the stone … those light and colors were within an arm reach … so close yet so far …
