Live in the Moment
“The art of life is to live in the present moment …” — Emmet Fox
What’s with another cliche sunset and a cheesy title? I was so spent after the long hours on the computer, so I left work early and took a long walk to get some fresh air. The sunset tonight was beautiful. I didn’t want to think about anything else but just to sit and look at the light and colors for a while … no pebble, no rock, no foreground interest, no subject, just light, water and colors …
When I hang out at the local brew houses with friends, we always talk about working in this town is a lifestyle, and that we should always try take advantage of what this place has to offer. I know folks who got consumed by works and didn’t take the time to appreciate the beauty of this place until they left town. Every chance I get, I jump on my bike and ride to the beach. Tonight was no exception. I got home from the beach with wet clothes and shoes filled with wet sand and beach tar, but I love every single minute of it.
It’s late, so I won’t write a long post, but instead, I’d like to borrow this quote from someone I’ve met in person:
“Life can be found only in the present moment. The past is gone, the future is not yet here, and if we do not go back to ourselves in the present moment, we cannot be in touch with life.” — Thich Nhat Hanh
